I personally take credit for giving my girlfriend multiple orgasms 5-7 nights a week, so stuff the blind, blanket insults ... and you forget the part where linux is tailored for research and education, not just for puffy sysadmins who get short of breath upon leaving the cool, dry environment of a server room
sure, insecurities about sex life aside I really dont see the need to apologize. The teacher was ignorant and did something stupid. You should get called out on it.

True, Billy Joe the farmer doesn't need Linux but you get the idea.
You left out the all too common elitism that infects many linux users.

Edit: People were actually wanting to pay money for this guy to reveal this womans identity, her comments were ignorant but she doesn't deserve to be threatened or put in danger. GOD have a heart people.
Ehhh....probably around 99% of modern Linux distros have a GUI. Most even have a GUI installer.

Sounds like someone needs to take Lattyware's challenge.

LOL I believe you. One of my college courses was titled "Introduction to Microcomputers" and it was all about learning MS Office 2003!

Is that a real joke? You must be that teacher!

The UI was much more simplistic than Windows though which can be a good thing, especially when you have a specific task you need to get finished with quickly.
Seriously... take Latty's challenge. I could keep going on and on, but then it would look like I was attacking you (but really I'm attacking ignorance).

btw, I'm sorry...

linux is cool if you work in a server environment, or have no sex-life, but for the rest of us, windows is at least as good. or OSX if you hate yourself.
Bigotry at its best. You flamebaiting attempt = fail.

Back heathen, you shall not convert me! Actually, I have no problem with Linux and yeah, I was joking about what I said earlier - I know it can do about everything Windows can do but I'm too used to Windows to stop using it completely.

Once I go back to school next year, I will have Mini 9 with Ubuntu preloaded.

I took this course too! Except mine was based on Office 2k7. I don't think I learned anything I didn't know in that class.
