P5Q deluxe would give u a wall around 490 for quads, not to do with the CPU chips (your chip may or may not have a wall, but just saying there's a wall there for sure)

As I said, my p5q has done well past 500fsb with kentsfields....and also ALL of the yorkfields I have had I've sold on and the buyers were not able to get a better clock either.

Also I have a friend who has a UD3P and moved from a P5Q to see if the board was holding him back on his Q9650, and nope...no luck at all.

opps I thought you were talking about wolfdale XD

Seems like it's his chip's fault, many are going over 500 FSB with the Q9X50 with this mobo.

9 times out of ten, adjusting gtls will make those "walls" disappear

if that were true almost all my chips would have passed their wall, since I have had a bunch of yorkies and adjusted gtls to no avail.

However these were older chips, some C1 steppings and a few early E0 steps. Perhaps the newer ones dont have these walls
