He may have tried to kill them because they put a lot of restrictions oh him, obviously not enough.

Daniel was homebound for a year with nothing to do but watch television and play video games, Kersey said. It was during that time that he became fascinated with the Halo series and would play them for hours at friends' houses. His father forbade the games, saying that were too violent and sexually explicit.
I dont understand how your homebound and then allowed to play Halo at a friends house. But it says homebound for a year with nothing to do but watch TV and play video games. Something isn't right with that part, I dunno if its the source of the author or a typo or bad police report.

Now being stuck at home to play Halo 1 and 2 and then big hype around 3 comes around and your parents tell you, you cant play it. Are you crazy!!! I'm not suprised he snapped at all. Its like giving a wild dog meat time after time, sure he will seem stable and nice, but when you stop giving it to him, he will turn on you.

Being 15-17 stuck at home for a year!!!! Those are the wonder years when he should be out chasing women and what not. But being homebound (against his will) for year... will make him unstable.

But reading that his father is a minster and had a 9mm makes me question everything. I dont see why he would have a 9mm since the town they live in a peace town.

I don't know why people think the man can't have a gun because he's a minister. If he feels he needs a gun to protect his family, or for whatever reason, then so be it. It's not against his religious views. He had it locked in a lockbox for goodness sakes, it's not like he carried it around everywhere .

Its not that he can't its that its weird for him to have one. A man of God shouldn't need a gun for protection. Maybe God is teaching minsters a leason, if you have a gun, the devil will corrupt your family to use it against you.

IMO, I wouldn't be surprised if the Dad was or has molested his son.

(I dont own a gun or care if anyone does, nothing against them and I'm not religious nor do I care about ones other religion preference.)

"Thou shall not kill"

Plus, religion is supposed to be about peace, how would people feel today if they found out the pope has a 9mm under his pillow...

I know the TOS says no religion, but honestly, if you are to point to that, I will point to the Old Testament.

Exodus 22:2-3 - "If the thief is found breaking in, and he is struck so that he dies, there shall be no guilt for his bloodshed. If the sun has risen on him, there shall be guilt for his bloodshed. He should make full restitution; if he has nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft."

There is nothing wrong with having a gun. It is not a sin. It is a person's responsibility to protect his home, and his family.

Now I'm not an extremely religious person. I don't even go to church anymore. I just find blaming all this on religion, or calling out the father for having a gun, ridiculous. I'll just leave it at that.

"His father forbade the games, saying that were too violent and sexually explicit."

Halo? Sexually explicit? Huh?

Discussing Religion is against TOS, guys. That being said, the Christian community is largely conservative, and conservatives often promote guns. Not saying whether that is right or wrong, just drawing a parallel. A lot of ignorance, a lot of bitterness, and a lot of stupidity is flying around this thread...
