[cleveland] New XBox Kid - Page 5

I can't believe you guys are sticking up for the kid in this case. First of all, there is nothing that can lead to a justifiable killing in order to play a video game. Many parents have rules where as long as the kid is in their house, the kid has to listen to them. His parents had every right to ban games like Halo in their home. It's absurd for you to claim the parents might have got what they 'had coming' because they banned a stupid video game. The kid was obviously insane, so perhaps they knew that and wanted to protect him.

This is just to show how corrupt society can/has become, it actually very sad... And i also agree with most of you when we say that video games dont make people become 'disturbed', i think they must be naturally 'damaged' already, i have never had these sort of urges... Probably like most of you guys

These games just trigger their already disturbed minds

That's my contribution

Exactly, while we do not have all the facts, they clearly prove in the least he is a dangerous individual. You cannot deny that, so maybe that is why his parents tried to restrict his actions? Some of you really need to get a grip. A kid shoots his parents, proving he is violent, and you say that maybe his parents were wrong for removing potential violent influences from him. What the hell? Maybe they were scared because they lived (yet loved) someone who showed signs of being off the scale.

I have nothing against violent games, I play them all the time, including all halo games (in fact, my favourite xbox series is the gears series). But I'm not crazy, and I don't shoot people. But if I was, I hope to god my parents would try to prevent me from ruining my life like this freak did.

QFT. The parents likely had some issues throughout this kids life that affected him negatively. Either way though, the kid is a douche bag.

Coma, it just seems like your rationalizing his actions. Becoming distant from the law? What about the law of nature? Would you kill your parents if they happened to make you mad and the law said it was ok to? I doubt you would and I doubt a lot of people would.

Also I don't have to imagine what its like being stuck at home and alone for more than a year going insane. "No tv no beer make Homer go crazy"

His actions were despicable.

They should just put the kid out with a plasma grenade (duct taping a grenade to him). That kid had to be really messed up to do something like that.

Well, it'd be one less dangerous individual in the world for one. And while I do believe in rehabilitation, the kid would probably agree because in his mind he would be thinking 'well I'll just respawn, and then I'll be ok!'

I never said anything about this kid shooting his parents over a video game, I highly doubt that was even close to the most significant factor.

I have no idea why this kid killed his parents, but I can think of cases where it would be understandable, and when someone is already tettering on the edge, you cannot predict when or what will set them off, or what they will do when it happens.

Yes, the kid has proven himself dangerous. Still, give me 16 year to do as I please with anyone here, and I'm 100% positive I could get that person to kill me if given half chance too.

Again, I don't know the whole story, but I would be very surprised if barring him from playing violent video games was even on the top 1,000 list of worst things they had done to him, in his mind.

And no, he is not obviously insane. In fact it seems he was in full control of his faculties when the murder occured. You don't need to be insane to kill someone, even for a petty reason.
