Q6600 L810 batch - any good? - Page 3

My batch L737B has a 1.20 VID and does 3.9GHz at 1.44v under load, but the temps aren't as low as you might think for that voltage.

I have a 1.3125 VID chip and I can get to 4Ghz stable at 1.62v. 3.8Ghz at 1.55
post #23 of 30
Is that 1.62v in BIOS or CPU-Z?

CPUz. It runs remarkably cool at high voltages too. My ambient is 19C and I'm idling at 23-26-31-31.

That is crazy. If my chip was at 1.62v, it would catch fire. That's what is wierd about my chip. It does a way low voltage, but it puts off a lot of heat. I idle at 3.9GHz in the upper 30's to low 40's. Under load it's in the 63C-68C range on the cores. Of course I only have a dual radiator and my GPU is in the loop, but it's still hotter than others I've seen.

Yea I actually have the same watercooling setup as you do right now. I'll be replacing the MCR220 with a BIX360 this week or next week and putting in the quad nozzle at that time.

All the low VID chips I've had run cool up until a certain voltage, then once you cross it temps skyrocket exponentially. This voltage was never very high either

Look on the box or take your heatsink off and see for yourself. That's the only way to find out.
