The x-treme music is actually not a real x-fi, if that means anything to you. Basically a suped up audigy. However it's probably still better than onboard audio.

All depends on the price bro. How much?

myne has an x fi crystal. It says so and i can adjust it. I thought that the xtreme music was just a down version of some of the other cards and with some new capcitors it was better.

i thought the xtreme music was the lowest x-fi (of the last generation of cards). I just bought mine used a month or 2 ago, and was told, by OCNers it is x-fi

It sure is a real X-Fi. You are thinking of the Extreme Audio which is not a real X-Fi.

X-Fi XtremeMusic = EMU20K1 = X-Fi
X-Fi XtremeAudio = CA20K1 = not X-Fi

I can attest to that. I have the xtrememusic and it is an x-fi powered card. The gamer (corrected above) is what you have to watch out for.
