any thoughts? or anyone know of any programsm that measure how much energy your pc is using?
Honestly, not enough for you to care if you're not poor or have 20 children. Don't mind it you prolly won't even notice.

A 500w system costs $36 a month or $432 a year. That's noticable.
Once again...

And even double that depending on where you live.

I leave mine in 16 hours a day, turning it off when I sleep. Set it to sleep mode when I'm not in the house.

If you make it fold while your not on it will probably double the amount of energy it is using (or even more?), thus doubling how much it will cost you to run it 24/7. If your real concerned about the cost of leaving it on 24/7 I would not recommend folding on it when your not using it. You could also just put it in sleep mode when your not on it and it will load back up everything you were doing real fast when you need it.

No, a 500w system doesn't pull nearly 500w when it's not doing anything. I don't even think it pulls half that. Even so, I don't see any reason not to turn your computer off at nights.
