Headphones Around $50-80ish (rep)

Thread Starter

I've seen alot of headphone threads around, but it was like the complete opposite. Like recommend me $20 for one thread, and the other was was $140 or less. xD

I need a closed full pair of headphones to listen to my new Zune. Any recomendations?

I used to have a $20 pair of Logitech noise canceling ones. Original, I saw noise canceling as a gimmick but let me tell you - those Logitechs were something else. Now they are discontinued and mine broke - so I'm looking to take a step up from the normal headphones into the somewhat-high quality realm.

I was looking at

but it's really expensive. I dont know if that would be worth it. :-/

The ATH's you posted are worth it, they're a great all-around set of headphones. If you look back in that $140 thread, JoeUbi found some nice Denon's we were recommending for just over 80. You might want to look into those.

open cup ain't my cup of tea (no pun intended)
My Icemat Superbia (or w/e) headphones were great but the open/vented cup annoyed the hell out of me.

If you're cool with listening to portable players with on ear headphones then a pair of Sennheiser HD 437's are great. Lightweight, strong, and they sound great! for $50 headphones!

Here's a page from CNET

If you can find denon d-1001k's for that price, you'll be very happy with them. I love mine, they sound better than anything I could have imagined with gaming, trance, and metal.

If not, the sennheiser hd555's always come well recommended in that range.

Best of luck
