Are you going to SLI or not? Are you doing to overclock a little/not at all or a lot? Do you have any other requirements?

yeah and whats you budget?
if not sli than gigabyte ga-ep45-ud3p.

If sli than get an x38 or x48 (like asus p5e). these are usually more expensive than a p45

If you are only going with a single card solution a P45 would more than fit your needs. Asus, Gigabyte, and DFI are solid mobos for that.

If you are going to SLI the EVGA 750i FTW, EVGA 780i FTW are both solid mobos. I would recommend both of those over the regular 750/780i mobo's since they have solid capacitors and ferrite chokes which allow for better overclocking stability.

If you are going to CF i have heard nothing but good things about the Asus X48 mobos.

my budget: <$200
it would be great to get something nice on sale or with a rebate.

planning on overclocking to 3.6-8

i cant afford 2 gpus right now, so i will be using a single card.

The UD3P is only $136.99 ($116.99 after $20 MIR) and is the best OCing board our at the moment:

Closest stable was 490x9 with the MIIF. I've only had 1 BSOD with this board and it only took an hour for the beginnings of an oustanding OC session.
This is what i call FUN! I've booted into windows at 533X8 only to get my 1 and only BSOD after 10-15 seconds.
That was with no extra voltage over what i'm running now. I'll be checking for max FSB Next.

Thanks to napalm for some bios settings.

The board runs ATI cards in crossfire. Robilar is reporting great results with his 4870 and this board.

If you are looking for SLI (NVIDIA cards), you cant beat the eVGA 750i FTW. It OCs very well:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813188026

But it cant match the UD3P in OCing.

I vote for the UD3P unless you plan on getting a GTX280/260 and adding a second card into SLI at some point (In which case get the 750i FTW). Gigabyte makes great boards, and their P45's have proven to be the best.

4870X2 is better than GTX280 which is slightly better than the 4870 1 GB which is more or less equal to the GTX260 Core 216. 4870X2 > GTX280 > 4870 1GB = GTX260 c216
