45nm/p45 voltage chart

Hi guys,
Don't post or visit here as often as i should...

Recently upgraded from my trusty old e6850 to q9550, when i was researching what CPU i was going to buy i stumbled upon a thread that linked to a graph explaining a voltage to FSB correlation, and about how a certain voltage level was safe for the 45nm's. Something about how one voltage gets to dangerous levels once you push above 400fsb.I'm not talking about vcore, it was something like a termination voltage.

I think this may have applied to p45 chipset only, but im not certain.

For the love of me i cannot remember what keyword/s i searched when i stumbled upon this but of information and a couple of hours of searching google i have been unable to find this information.

It may or may not have been posted here, but im sure somebody will be able to point me in the right direction.

I really want to find this info before i try pushing this new chip to the limit.

Thanks in advance.

FSB termination voltage should be kept under 1.35ish in my opinion for 24/7 clocks on a 45nm chip....that said, newer mobos really won't need much for a 45nm chip. I have hit 4.75ghz on 1.26V.....for your quad I don't think you will need over 1.3

For 400-450fsb I would try 1.22-1.24 and that should be enough

Thanx for the fast reply.
Im looking in my bios now, i dont have a FSB termination voltage,Im guessing its just called something else, any other common terms? Not CPU term or MCH reference?

No Vtt either

i may as well list them all
CPU
CPU Vcore
CPU Termination
CPU PLL
CPU reference
CPU reference 2

MCH
MCH Core
MCH reference
MCH/DRAM Reference
ICH i/o
ICH Core

Pluss a few obviously unrelated ram settings.

My old nvidia boards had vtt but yeah , none here.
I wish every board maker would use the same names!

Sweet

REP for you my friend.

Im so paranoid about new hardware, like to have some bounderies.
Very happpy with this chip so far and i have high hopes for it.

Thanks your time and effort.

I haven't had to adjust VTT ("CPU Termination") at all.

I changed my FSB termination. It was 1.26 but that gave me errors. It is now stable at 1.32 i think?
