Discuss any form of Piracy
I don't think that this would count as piracy in this case. Piracy is defined by Wikipedia as: "Copyright infringement (or copyright violation) is the unauthorized use of material that is covered by copyright law, in a manner that violates one of the copyright owner's exclusive rights, such as the right to reproduce or perform the copyrighted work, or to make derivative works."

Since he already purchased the game and obtained the rights to play said game using a crack is just allowing him to exercise his right to install and use the software that he purchased legally.

I don't see any legal or moral problems with using a crack to play a game that you paid for.

Just my 2 cents..

It's alright to use cracks on Ubisoft software..
Nobody remember the Ubisoft scandal a few months back?
The one where Ubisoft were offering a special 'package' to get their way round dodgy DRM (it was locking people out and even Ubisoft didn't have a better way to get round it) on another game?
You know, the stolen CD crack with the pirate's name still on it.

* Any software that disables copy protection and/or disc encryption
-He is not ripping the disc onto his computer

* Any discussion of software that invalidates Shareware/Trialware restrictions.
- Not shareware or trialware

* Offering to PM a member a serial number or crack.
-Not offering any cracks, not discussing where to obtain cracks or serial numbers

* Any un-authorized use of Corporate Software.
-Using the crack doesn't violate the EULA to the best of my knowledge

* Using BT or other P2P networks to obtain protected software.
-I am not condoning downloading copyrighted software, but the original poster is installing the software from his CD so he is not obtaining any copyrighted software from any P2P protocol

* Downloading any copyrighted media without the Artist's permission.
-Again the original poster is installing the software from his CD so he is not obtaining any copyrighted software from any P2P protocol

* Suggesting the missuse of OEM software.
-Not preloaded on a Dell or other similar configuration

I am not trying to be disrespectful in any way, shape, or form. I hope no one takes this as rude. I just think that he should be able to play his game without having to be hassled by having to contact the game manufacturer when he did nothing wrong.

It's not stealing if you purchased the game.

I fully understand your point, however, we as OCN members cannot discuss any "alternative" methods to find a way around the activation/drm on such media. All we can say is contact the game manufacturer/developer.
