The GS line IIRC is made by Topower. I haven't seen them tested yet but I am betting they aren't as good as the LS line from BFG. I'm not a fan of Topower so it would be best to move on, unless I can be proven wrong about these (you never know what you are going to get with Topower). I would tell you to just grab an Earthwatt from there but the prices are atrocious. Just buy a video game or something with your gift card and buy your computer parts online .

Yeah true I was skeptical. Especially when it was rated at 24 degress celsius. That is pretty low. Any now I am choosing between the OCZ StealthXStream 500w and 600w. Is the $20 for 100w worth the money. I have pretty much decided on a 4850 and I will be overclocking the E5200.

There's nothing wrong with the FSP built 500W and 600W SXS. They are decent especially if you are on a budget. The 500W has 34A on the 12V and should be fine with your setup, the 4850 is pretty efficient. The 600W has 44A and would put you in a better spot for any upgrades. Another option at this price point is the LS-550 which is my choice ATM for budget PSUs. It is a better performer than the FSP built OCZs and is right in between the other two with 41A on the 12V.

Does it matter that they have 4-12v rails instead of 1 or 2? Will that affect performance?

No performance won't be affected, having split rails just adds an artificial maximum limit for an extra layer of safety. The BFG and 600W SXS both have 4 rails with everything split up properly so you won't even know they are there. The 500W SXS with two rails does have the PCI-E and mobo on the same rail but that shouldn't pose any problems with your video card choice.

Aren't they are based on the FSP Epsilon design? Aren't they are identical to the OCZ GXS minus the LED fan? If so, has the high ripple issue at higher loads been resolved?

Yeah they are Epsilons but I was under the impression that ripple problems on that flatform didn't really start until you hit ~600W.

edit: By "problems" I mean the platform didn't go out of spec until over 600W and at 600W it was on the borderline @100mV.

Hmmmm.... that means the 500w units are well-regulated across the board then since they will not hit 600w?

It should. Spectre (Paul from [H]) said the 500W stayed in spec and when Jon reviewed the 700W, he also checked out the 600W which still had high ripple but he never said it was out of spec. We constantly recommend the tx750 which has been known to hit 100mV of ripple at full load so as long as it is in spec I have no problems recommending something. Sure the less ripple the better but you can't expect a perfect PSU at these prices.
