Having trouble setting up RAID 0 on a P6T mobo

Thread Starter
I am trying to set up a RAID 0 on my Asus P6T motherboard using 2 Velociraptors. Problem is things just aren't playing along.

I installed the extra drive and booted into bios. I checked to see that all the drives were being recognised and they are. Then I tried the following as indicated by my user's manual.

1) I went into BIOS and set my "Storage Configuration" to "[RAID]" under the "Configure SATA" sub-menu. (note, I've also tried it without changing it to RAID under this step and it still did not work.)

2) Then I saved and rebooted and tried to bring up the Matrix Storage Manager by hitting crtl-l while in POST.

The problem is that while the Matrix Storage Magager shows up for a second and says "Press <ctrl+l> to enter" it will not enter it even when I press ctrl_l numerous times and instead goes on to the BIOS settings after a couple seconds.

Am I missing a step guys? I've never set up a RAID 0 before... could somebody please help me. Is there something else I need to do??????

Thanks in advance....

On many Asus boards you can also get into the RAID menu from the tools tab in the BIOS.

Just looked into my manual and farther in it mentions something called a RAID driver disc.... a floppy ur USB key that has RAID drivers on it. Do I need to make one of these?

Actually I am wrong, I just looked up my manual for an older board. I was thinking of EZ flash.
OK when you save and reboot and it won't go into the RAID menu go into the BIOS and check to see if it is changed to RAID and SATA.
Also set everything else to stock besides what you changed for RAID. When setting up RAID I clear CMOS and then change for RAID after. There are no other steps so you couldn't be missing anything.

Edit: You may need to make a driver disc when installing Windows, but that shouldn't matter when setting it up.
When loading Windows it will ask you to hit F6 to load drivers during Windows install so you have to look out for that.

Wait... realized that it needs ctrl+i not ctrl+l..... they made the upper case I look just like a lower case L.

I think I set them up and am now in the process of seeing if Vista likes the RAID and is willing to install Vista on it

I'll post back in if theres any trouble!
