How to repair bootmgr without vista dvd?

Thread Starter
The bootmgr files are missing for vista. I tried to look for a solution but every single one states to boot with the vista dvd and select repair. I have no idea where my dvd is and I would apreciate another solution to this problem. Thanks

I think that is literally the only solution. I have never been able to fix that without complete reinstall or with the DVD. YOu may have to download/burn a different disk.

This will let you create a repair disk.

Its says that sp1 would let you do it as well. I'm guessing you have to download the standalone and burn it on to a cd/dvd.
