Left 4 Dead Question

Thread Starter
So I noticed that Left 4 Dead is permanently linked to my Steam Account. Does that mean that I can never give the game away for someone to play or ever resell the game if I so choose down the line? What I am getting at is I want to make sure whether I give it away, sell it off, or other wise that the person will be able to use the game without having to hijack my Steam account.

Once it's on your Steam account, it's on your Steam account.

Fine enough,... just curious..........

However, I think that is extremely annoying...... some of us like myself play a game for a while and are then done with it. Sure the game was worth it, but I prefer selling my game to put it towards other games, etc. EA is widely known for such things for their games and to be honest I do buy many games with the intention that I may sell or give it away in the future. This game is good enough to bite the permanent bullet for though.

(edit): Is this the way every STEAM game works that is purchased at the store? Secondly if I ever lose the physical copy can I download the game for free given it is permanently linked to my STEAM account?

Every game company - Valve.

Valve is like the Apple of the gaming world. Instead of a glowing Apple we have a black-on-white piston.

I just purchase a retail copy. If I install it, is the game requires steam to run?

Wait, so if you buy a valve game from a store, register it to your steam account and play, there's no option to un-register it from your account if you want to sell it? I can see, for obvious reasons, why one cannot sell games they purchase directly from steam. I had no idea physical disks that were purchased from a store cannot be un-linked from one's account...
