I have access to a FREE copy of Widows XP Pro 64-bit (OEM) and a FREE copy of Windows Vista Business 64-bit(retail). Should I get either of these or get an OEM copy of Vista Home Premium 64-bit? I mostly game, with a bit of amateur video editing on the side. I don't "mind" spending the $100 for Vista "HP"x64 but if XP prox64 or vista businessx64 is just as good then I would rather not.

System it would be on is in my Sig.

Thanks for any input
The Damned ^_^

EDIT: Just for clarification purpose...the "Free" XP Pro 64-bit and Vista Business 64-bit are both offered to me through my school and thus are 100% legal/legit. The $100 Vista Home Premium would be purchased off the egg.

Vista business will be just fine. I doubt you will miss any features from Home Premium, if you can even find them. They aren't worth the $100. XP 64 has very little support compared to XP 32 and Vista so I would count it out. Especially if it is the retail copy, you can't go wrong with it. XP 64 can cause lots of problems with drivers, etc.

Gah...one for Premium one for Business...can anyone persuade me that the $100 for Premium is worth it/not worth it? Looks like most people here have Ultimate or Premium...Yeah following the crowd isn't always best but I don't wanna grab something and regret it

Unless you need media center or use the built in media features, you won't have to worry. I assume you will have your own video software and can live without inkball and mahjong.

This might help: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...s/default.aspx

I would definitely get the business edition for free.

Edit: I was beaten by a couple of seconds. Nice.

Ya like above only get premium if your gonna use the media part of it. Its pretty much the biggest difference. I would go with business, its free and is compatible with more hardware than xp 64bit. I had it once and I just wanted to cry.
