I've still got my very first mobo, an AN8, sitting happily with a gig of RAM and my Opty 165 at home. That thing has been through so much of my overclocking bull and it's still chugging along.

I had one of those.. had a celeron 2.4 on it.. primary IDE channel was dead from the get-go.. had to use RAID. RMAd board and then the secondary IDE channel was dead... eventually they got it right and I got a working board which I ended up selling, but OMG the hassle.. board came with tons of accessories though, gotta give them credit for that.. some of which I still have

I'm not exactly sure that it's a wise business decision to close your doors to one primary income source, before solidifying a new one.

I'm sorry to say, as far as their motherboards go, I've never tried one.

Yeah Abit really rode that Fatal1ty wave for a while, back when Abit was THE board to own. It's a shame they're closing down but that's life I guess.

I've loved the few Abit boards I have had, An8, Kn8, Ip35 pro and non pro. They had a big enough following, my guess poor business/marketing decisions.
Fortunately some newer companies are pumping out some quality boards, IMO

Yeah like Gigabyte, which wasn't that big when Abit was IIRC.

Yeah, this sucks. Built my first computer around the IP-35 Pro and have loved it. Now I have to find another company for my next build...
