Think i already know the answer to this , but ,is there any way the Vcore can be adjusted on my MOBO , the manual says it can be via the bios but when i look in the frequency/voltage page ,there is no ability to do so .Regards Graeme

i don't have your mobo; what are your menu choices? for instance I have to disable SpeedStep and then enter the voltage menu to change mine, if you have the manual, does it actually say WHERE you can change the voltage, or is it a bit on the 'light' side?

edit:

is this an OEM mobo? like dell/compaq? if so you might be locked out of that stuff.

Have you looked for a BIOS update?

You have a cheap motherboard with an older chipset; you aren't going to have many options for overclocking, unfortunately.

Was your computer a prebuilt rig? sometimes the OEM will give you the motherboards standard-issue manual even though they got a special custom (read crippled) version of the BIOS to prevent you from getting more out of your system than you paid for... or in otherwords, overclocking.

DELL is notorious for this...

Purple PCB FTW!!

but it does sound like you have a locked board, do what error10 suggested and look for a bios update.

Cross your fingers that it has what you need.

I don't think that ECS board supports voltage adjustment. Get the latest BIOS update but doubt it will help. Be sure to look in the bios for MANUAL settings which may unlock some things. You are probably limited to FSB adjustment but will only be able to go so far without a voltage increase. If you are interested in a great 478 overclocker I just posted this deal;http://www.overclock.net/sale/427298...cpu-tuniq.html

that's a great overclock!!! I doubt you'd get it much higher anyway. I've yet to see 3.4 on my E2180 but I'm going to give it a shot someday.

I doubt you are getting that on an ECS with no V Core increase.
