If you can get it for less than $150 go for it, it's totally worth it.

lol no way less than 150$, the evga 9800gtx+ costs approximately 210$..

In israel the prices are much expensive than US..

anyway It's good price in here..

leave the $$$ part, my question if 9800GTX+ Is worth the extra than 9800GT for 19"..

Yes the 9800GTX will be better for your resolution but not by a massive margin, the 9800GTX isnt worth the extra cash for the amount of performance increase you will see on your resolution. Id say go with the 9800GT and hold with that for a year then upgrade your whole system.

Oh btw you might need a new powersupply depending on the amperages.

The 9800gtx+ is definitely a better card, but the gt is also awesome. You will notice an increase in performance with the gtx+, but you will still get very good performance with the gt. It's all a question of whether or not the extra cost is worth it for you. I don't know if newegg ships to israel, but here are some links:

I'm goin to buy:
Q9550
Corsair 750W
Corsair 4GB Dominator
ASUS P5Q-E
TRUE Black ..
+ keep my 19" viewsonic monitor.

I'm lookin for the most "worthwhile" GPU to run most of the games maxed out for 1~1.5year max which is prolly from 98oo series..
money ain't an issue so You still recommend me the 9800gt? (9800GTX+ on 19" for 1year will be v good IMO.)

My overclocked 8800GT 1gb runs most games maxed out 1920x1080. Although with games such as GTA4 using a full quad and lots of GPU, it's probably easier to get a graphics card now like many others have suggested and get another one in the future.

But wait , what about the HD4850 or don't you like ATi lol?

HD4850 is cheaper and better than the 9800GTX isn't it?

Nah about the same price and the 4850 is only a tiny bit better if at all. The GTX+ (which is what most are telling him to get) Is better than the 4850. Plus he did ask this question in the Nvidia forum right? Not general or ATI lol

ok stop with the upgrades

you need to get a 22" - 24" WideScreen LCD
before you should continue upgrading your system
on a 19" you wont fully experience games at there best
the bottleneck of your system i believe is the LCD
i used to own a 19" and am so happy that i upgraded to a 22" WideScreen

so buy the LCD before upgrading

don't waste money on a new quad cpu, just get a low-mid range core 2 cpu
e8400, e8500, simply because core i7 is out now, and most of the quad lineup is going to be discontinued, so you might as well just save the cash and buy a core 2 duo cpu and hold out till you have enough cash to get a i7

you can't upgrade your GPU till you get a new LCD and a New CPU because it would be bottlenecked,

and it would be like chucking $200-$300 (AUD) down the drain

so my advise: upgrade CPU, and LCD first then the GPU
or keep to you're current system
and hold out till you can get i7

otherwise you wont see any improvement over the 8600GT, mainly due to the CPU
