Whats wrong with this config?

Thread Starter
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E7200 @ 2.53GHz (2 CPUs)
RAM: 2046MB @ 800 MHz
CARD: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS 320 MB OC
BIOS: Award Modular BIOS v6.00PG
MOTHERBOARD: Gigabyte GA-EP31-DS3L

So im once again step closer to successful OC.
Theres still something wrong with this config.
It reboots and resets the settings.

Robust Graphics Booster: Auto
CPU Clock Ratio: 7x
Fine CPU Clock Ratio: +0,5
CPU Frequency: 3.00 GHz (400x7,5)
PCI Express Frequency (MHz): Auto
C.I.A: Diabled
Performance Encance: Standard
System Memory Multiplier: (SPD): 2.00
Memory Frequency (MHz): 800
DRAM Timing Selectable (SPD): Manual

CAS Latency Time: (Default 5), set 4 also tried 5
DRAM RAS# to CAS# Delay: (Default 5), set 4 also tried 5
DRAM RAS# Precharge: (Default 5), set 4 also tried 5
Precharge delay (tRAS): (Default 18), set 12 also tried 15
Tested both 4-4-4-12 and 5-5-5-15 (also 5-5-5-18)

Then a lot of settings like DRR2 Overvoltage control, System Voltage Control etc. all set manual.
At the end theres CPU Voltage control: 1.24375V
Default: 18750V

So basically Im trying the same settings as this guy

FSB: 400 MHz
CLOCK RATIO: 7,5x
vCore: ~1.24
RAM: 5-5-5-15 @ 800

Did i miss something

Go herefill in the rest of your info, someone will be able to help you later.

If you just copied all that information down from your bios, then something is wrong. It shows that you have the multi set to x7, and yet when it calculated the fsb, it did 7.5x400, perhaps the bios needs to be updated.

Temperature is also very important, so post those as well.

Thanks for the reply.
Fine CPU Clock Ratio: +0,5 This is responsible for the 7,5
I could also set the ratio to 0.0 so it would be 7.0x400
CPU is around 40 when idle. 55-60 under heavy load. Stock cooler. (Gta IV or ATI Tool 3D view).
Im planning to buy something fancier but not until i get over this OC issue.

I haven't tried a 7x00 yet, but I'm guessing the voltage is set too low.

what do you have the northbridge voltage at? also fsb termination voltage.
there are alot of voltages that can be setting you back...
also when trying to find max cpu clock you need to set your ram divider as low as possible, this will help rule that out as suspect.
also what revision is your mobo?

PCI Express Frequency (MHz): Auto

That's the only other problem I can see without having the computer actually sitting at my desk. Try setting it at 100.

C.I.A.2, turn this off.
(G)MCH OverVoltage Control, turn this up a bit to try and stablize your higher fsb
DDR2 OverVoltage Control, set this within spec of your ram's specs
CPU Enhanced Halt (C1E, turn this off
CPU EIST Function,turn this off
Limit CPUID Max. to 3, turn this off
and if your mobo has spreadspectrum turn that off aswell
also turn your cpu to 1.325 and keep it there, try and rule out as many things as possible

BTW, gigabyte's website sux, takes too long to dl anything, and half the time the dl of a manual will just freeze for no reason...
I hate not first given the option to dl the manual instead of auto open.

@ 0m3g4:
Couldnt find Northbridge voltage nor fsb termination voltage.
Maybe too new(b) to find em.

@Mr. Mojo
PCI Express Frequency (MHz): Auto
Didnt help

@ 0m3g4
C.I.A.2, turn this off. - DID
(G)MCH OverVoltage Control, turn this up a bit to try and stablize your higher fsb - Only 1 option: +0,1v
DDR2 OverVoltage Control - +0,1v-0,7v. Used normal.
CPU Enhanced Halt (C1E, turn this off - DID
CPU EIST Function, turn this off - DID
Limit CPUID Max. to 3, turn this off - WAS ALREADY
and if your mobo has spreadspectrum turn that off aswell - DOESNT HAVE
also turn your cpu to 1.325 and keep it there - DID, but was reset.

These are also the settings i can change:

No success at this point.
Thanks for your input
