Which I really think that the dual core Atom is the future and that they need to flush out the old Atom single core CPUs unless they increase the ghz.

If the dual core was 1.6, but the single core was 2.66 then it would be more of a fight in performance.

Though I base my thoughts off of more of a E1200 vs Pentium 4 2.66ghz Northwood
Depends on the app. For example, a 4GHz E8500 is better at gaming than a 3.4GHz Q6600. But the Q6600 is better at video encoding. However, most apps now have some multi-threading to them. Since this will be focused on media, a multicore Atom will definitely be better.

Weather gaiming or media veiwing I've noticed similar performance on the 2 CPUs (North and Celeron Dual Core)

Though you are right.

But as you and I have both said, multicore atom is the way to go.

They need to put the mobile P45 in laptops, with an Atom 330 and a low power media card. (Radeon HD or GeForce depending on what uses less power)

Personally, I'd love the screen range to be uped to 10-13" line. Seems perfect. Cause the 14.5" laptops are the tablet PCs from HP while most gaiming/dedicated card laptops are boasting the 15-17" set up.

Though, the LCDs for Atom Netbooks need to be OLED.

Though, I do really dig the Atom, before I would invest in a Netbook, I would need to see some of these changes. And with the way most things Atom are shapping up and considering how new it is and how much backing it is getting I can see more Netbooks on the way with a 92-9400M Atom 330 and 13" OLED.

SSDs are an option, but they are way to pricey and I think 5400RPM drives are a better alternative right now.

An OLED LCD screen would be pricier than the SSD. It would sort of defeat the purpose of a netbook's affordability.

Like SSDs that was more of my down the line thoughts.

Once such a tech becomes more main stream, more production/R&D goes into it prices will drop into the current HDD and LCD range.

Ah. Well hopefully this tech can become cheaper faster. I'm still waiting if they would ever release the Atom 330 on a netbook.

Why use a P45? There are way too many features that will never even be utilized and just generate heat. Why bother with a seperate video card if it bottlenecks an IGP? Poulsbo or 9400M are well suited.
