$350 Build Help

Thread Starter
I know absolutely nothing about AMD but I've heard they're still reliable and I'm happy with mine but, I need a $3-350 build. I know it possible I'm just not sold on any of them not know anything about the mobo/cpu combos. Here's a list of what I'd need.

List:
  • Motherboard able to upgrade to Phenom in the future.
  • 2Gb ram (will upgrade later)
  • No video card (Reusing this)
  • Don't need a big hard drive (have a couple externals)
  • Would like to build in the NZXT Alpha: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811146041
  • No peripherals needed (Monitor, KB/M, Speakers)
  • This will be used for mainly internet browsing, listening to music, light gaming(BF2, BF2142, COD4)
  • May OC in the near future.

here is an awsome case for on the semi cheap
link
no window, but nice big case free shipping*remember shipping on a case is around $20*
cheap mobo w/the all power sb750
link
or a foxconn $60 MIR
link
this is the proccy i would go with
link
or a dual core
well the amd 7750 isn't on the egg, thats the only place i trust .
plus its around the same price tag as the tri cores so get a tri core save some money enjoy the benefits.

I would definitely go with the 780g chipset. It has a decent intergraded graphic card that can play HD video and some games. I can also do a hybrid crossfire with a cheap 3450 card. Here is a good cheap board LINK

790GX is just a little more, for more quality. i was happy when i got my openbox for 66 . i would guess he'd need a new processor as he's going am2+

for a new processor, and you aren't doing that much, i'd just go for an 8450 or a 9600 BE.

Not an expert here, but I'd think if you're going to upgrade memory, get 1x2gb stick of DDR2, then buy an identical one later.

The NZXT Alpha case it GOOD. too bad there isnt free shipping anymore. i caught mine for $55 free shipping. There are some reviews on the case saying that the led on the front left side of the case isnt bright. well i checked mines yesterday and guess what. it doesnt even work at all. your'e gonna have to replace it if you get the bad case. Also the fans that comes with this case SUCKS and doesnt blow alot of air. i recommend you buy new fans if you plan on doing major load of work where the case gets really hot. but all in all. the case is GREAT!
