hmm.. i thought the ppd hit was because of gpu class.

Hmm, when you say class, are you talking about the core (ie. g92)? I saw a ppd hit when I had a GS with my GTS g92.

As far as I know the 9500GT GDDR3 version is roughly the equivalent of a 8600GTS, so i'd expect a very similar ppd output. The DDR2 version is closer to a 8600GT.

The 9500GT GDDR3 and the 9500GT GDDR2 have the same core, the same number of shaders, and unless factory overclocked, the same speeds. So the GDDR2 should only make the card slower in games where memory matters.
