Need advice on TRUE, Fans, and more. - Page 2

i know i won't be giving the TRUE any real work to do but the combo doesn't come with a heatsink, or maybe just a fan whichever it is i'm going to replace it anyways but thats why i was considering getting the smaller TRUE so it won't be overkill.

Well depends on what you want to spend, the AC freezer 7 will be more than enough for stock speeds and can probably get you to 3ghz maybe a little more with good temps if you did decide to OC some, it also comes with a fan.

I already have two laptops but they aren't sufficient (anymore) for the amount of information i put through them. They can't play two videos at a time, and take a long time to process music, i.e., converting, organizing and what not.

I'm thinking about getting the smaller 90mm true, four fans and a reostat. I do everything to an overkill level anyway so i'm getting a sweet heatsink anyway i just want some more info. I read people had to modify or get a different hs's brackets to make the true seal better (after lapping) and i don't really care about fan noise it doesn't bother me, so i want a good fan that won't seize up after a two or three years.

Also do you guys have a certain vendor or website you prefer, because for a total of 20 dollars difference between two websites i'd would much rather choose the smaller of the two and help out the little guy.

Its a pressure mod, people will do that to any cooler so it has even better contact. Like I said before, the TRUE isn't heavy.

Anyways, you really should OC. Unless you are running a server there is no need to worry.

I'm pretty unexperienced in the overclocking world. I had done my old computer but i didn't really notice any difference. How high can i OC the Q6700 and what point is it still considered stable. I t seems like i have alot of research to do on OC before i try.

back to the vendor/preferred website to buy from, any suggestions.

okay so i'm pretty sure this is the setup i'm going with. I'm not even a 100% sure on what size my case fans are but i'm guessing 92mm as they seem to be the standard size.

I'm going with the TRUE and the mounting plates they come with.

This fan for my two intakes and one exhaust http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/de92trblhisp.html

And this fan for the TRUE http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/de12trblhisp.html

I'm not sure if the thickness makes any difference in performance besides its low profile size so i went with 38mm as i don't really have any space limitations.

Does anyone have any comments or suggestions on this combo as i need to order today.

Thanks

Berj

And a better sound card, well, offers better sound quality. But that also depends on the audio quality on the movies/music and what the sound card is outputting too.

Took your advice and i returned the motherboard and sound card, and the power supply, but i kept the video card. I'll be ordering your recommended parts from newegg momentarily.

Thanks
