I wouldn't say that. In terms of simplicity and agility, I think XP still has the clear edge here even on current hardware. You can't say that just because an OS is older, it isn't good. XP's gone through a lot and it's aged like wine. It's pretty much become the defining operating system of this decade.

the obvious thing to say would be Go Team Minority!!

on the flipside to that, there have been 3 ATi ranges with DX10 and ALLEGEDLY 3 nVidia ranges with DX10 now... so what is the holdup... oh wait got it!!

OEM's who build "gaming machines" with core 2 duos and a 7300 Turbocache inside them...
i know of 9 people, and that is not an exaggerated number...

I'm not surprised in the least that DX10 usuage is low (regardless of if your rig hardware can run it or not), if I am not mistaken dx10 is/was tied to Vista, ie you needed to be running vista to run dx10... enough said. Vista basically blows, or at least it blew for a long time, most people stayed with XP 32 which the numbers also bare out. Not surprising. My rig is fully dx10 ready but I still run XPPro 32, because I refuse to touch Vista, but maybe thats just me. I didnt switch to XP from Win2K until 2005. It seems like each time windows has gotten their latest OS to a very solid state, they release some new buggy crappy thing. Reminds me of when XP first came out, I wouldnt touch it.

My friend paid $1000 (back when the Aussie was 0.94 US) and went to buy COD4. After about 2 hours of COD4 straight back to CS:S. Who pays $1000 to play CS?

lol I got XP only because it was on sale and therefor $40 cheaper than Vista when I built my rig

I'd totally jump to 64-bit vista if I had the chance (Or wait for Windows 7)
