From AMD 6000X2--> Q6600. 3dmark 06 SAME score What the F....Help!

Thread Starter
Goodday, on recomandation of people on this board i went from a 6000 X2 AMD to a Q6600 Intel quadcore.

This because i had a GTX260 and the 6000X2 was bottlenecking it.
-------------------------
The 3dmark06 score with my old setup:
700W PSU
M2N SLI deluxe
6000X2 @ 3000 Mhz.
3 GB RAM DDR II 553 Mhz.
GTX260 @ stock.
3dmark06 11750

The 3dmark06 Score with my new setup:
700W PSU
Asus P50L Pro
Q6600 @ 2400 Mhz
5 GB RAM DDRII 667 Mhz
GTX 260 @ stock
3dmark06 11687

Thats allmost the same-, Even lower then my old setup. How is this possible? A Q6600 In combination with GTX260 should be good for 13500-14500 3dmark06 Score. Does anyone has any suggestion? Thanks

well, even at 2.4, that quad could potentially be bottlenecking the 260 still (usually goes away around 3.0), and faster memory could be an improvement, and higher amount of memory, you could be getting problems with the board, the memory controller possibly doesnt like that much for a OS like Windows.

Who's the maker of your PSU? It shouldn't be a problem regardless if its 700w, but just naming the possibilities here

It's a bit anal, but if i changed CPUs like that, I'd reformat.

That score is way too low for sure. My Q6600 and 8800GT stock got close to that.

3dmark06 is very dependent on the CPU. My Q6600 bottlenecks the GTX 280 at 3.7GHz lol

no overclock on the CPU....imo the q6600 at stock is a weak CPU...once overclocked its pretty good.

He probably did reformat...as you can see he changed motherboards also.
