I gained over 30% in clock speeds, with my setup vmod'd...and have broke more than a few 1st place records recently, with my GS's... As long as you can keep the GPU cool..a vmod is always the easiest upgrade.

*In SLI, my GS's will outperform a 9800GX2... the GS's were ~40$ each though.

I need to know what voltage I should use. Right now my volt meter is reading 1.17 on the gpu core.

no idea
zealotk1ller had his around 1.33 for a 830core speed, and 1.4 is said to be the limit for good air cooling.

is it the idle voltage,1.2 or 1.19 should be the load voltage on ref cards.

1.3 is the best spot to get 800Mhz core. I have mine @ 1.33 and i have to @ 840Mhz stable. You gain so much from overcloking. I went from 37FPS in crysis to 47FPS with 840/1175. All i can say is that 4850 @ 800/1175 will perform same as stock 4870 in 90% of the games. There is a person here that did a test with 4850 overclocked to 860Mhz and 4870 to 860Mhz and 4850 had memory 1100 and 4870 had it stock and 4870 was only 7% better.

Up to ~1.30v for a 65nm core is safe for daily use, on air cooling. Just be sure to keep the VRM's nice and cool.

Ok 1.3 can be reached with a pencil mod right? That's what I would like to do. But something has be worried now. Here is a SS.

4850 is 55n and also people recomend to keep it under 1.4 volts so i only use the first method just to be safe. Anyhting over 1.35v in a 4850 will not make a difference. My temps with 26 ambient are ~ 60C with 22C ambient and all fans max speed ~ 55C

..Cool, yeah, I wasnt sure what size die it was.. Also, with no independent shader OC control..temps will really be your limiting factor..part of the reason why going much over 1.3v wont help much.

*Now if you can drop your temps @ 1.3v, by ~10c..then a voltage increase will most likely net some more mhz.

ouch that doesn't look good,61C gpu without a vmod will go easily over 70-75 or even 80 with a mod.for the other temps check out what riva says, sicne all those temps are said to originate from the gpu die itself maybe you need to remount the heatsink.and do you have anything for the vrm cooling?

for me they are always around 5C more, the shader temps around 7-10 from the main gpu temps and around 55C on the main gpu temp with ati tool.
