Abit IL9 pro problem..

Thread Starter
i installed my e8400 today...i disconnected my mobo from everything and set it on a cardboard box to install it. i put the mobo back in my case, hooked everything up correctly, and now nothing on my back panel on the mobo works. theres no picture on my monitor ( hooked up to my 8800 ) mouse and keyboard aren't showing their LED's, i cranked the volume up on my speakers and didn't hear vista booting up. And my hdd status light isn't flickering. The fan on my 8800 is spinning for sure, but i have no idea if my hard drive is even on

please help i have winterbreak next week and i want to use my comp by then

Double check all cable connections from the power supply to the motherboard...if that fails..pull the motherboard out and only hook up power supply,motherboard,1 stick of ram and gpu...that will narrow it down

NO to the cpu and fan...yes to the hdd..you just want to see if you can get into bios...you could have a short from your motherboard to your case...if you can get to bios on the bench then you can add 1 thing at a time until you find the problem...if it won't post on the bench then there are a couple other checks..
