[VR-Zone/Plaza.fi] GTX 295 - Nvidia Review & Pricing ($499) - Page 2

LOL, reminds me of an old VHS tape. The casing is not my taste but the performance is.

Wonder if this will fit in my VCR???

I read what you said again, and without looking at the charts, retract my post.

$499.. interesting

I like how they call it the "fastest single graphics card"

People, people. The graphs are comparing the two cards with one of them set at a baseline (100%) or 1.0, whatever you want to call it. They are not trying to fool you, just read the ****ing numbers! Not hard.

Not to mention they have a big 26% faster line so you get an example. I'll give you another example: FarCry 2 has 50% more FPS on a GTX295 than a 4870X2.

Kapeesh?

^ Thats the thing, the bars show 200%, whereas reading the numbers you find out its 50%.

This is much better than I expected. Both performance-wise and price-wise. I expected 600$ at launch and maybe 550$ after a month. The case is also to my liking, looks easy to spray paint so you can make it look metallic/chrome or something for those who don't care for warranties.

That's because the base line is 80%, not 0%. I actually would have preferred 100%.

edit: And people, give the charts a break, just discuss the card! There's a million threads for charts probably. Go find 'em!

Would you be able to talk to folks about it when you get it, or would you be held under an NDA?

Yes, they are trying to fool us. They are trying to make it seem better than it really is. What company wouldn't want to make its product seem leaps better than a competitors?

Well if you a) are not blind, and b) can read numbers, then you should be ok
