Sins of a Solar Empire

Thread Starter
I saw that this game won game of the year in igns pc game list and was wondering what ocn thought about this game before I download it. Im a fan of rts games (war3, WIC, generals etc.) but im not sure if this game would appeal to me. It seems like a lot of stuff happening at the same time and everything just kind floats there. I was wondering if you would reccomend me this game. Also how does the interface work? good? thnx guys

I actually meant to buy this game, I really loved the demo because it reminded me a lot of freelancer, but I guess when it released, it was buggy, but I am sure they have had 2-3 patches since then.

I like it a lot. Moves slowly, but very fun and a vast playing field.

The game is very very large (in terms of scale). Matches can take a loooooong time as well (don't expect a match to take under 2 hours). Good game though, I don't regret buying it.

Have it.
If you have a friend and two bots.
Average game is about 6 hours.
ANd more and you are saving and playing later and repeat.
Interface is easy to pick up.
Game play can get boring if you are in fast action pace.

I loved homeworld, bought this because it reminded me of homeworld - and Sins didn't really captivate me.

damn sounds like it can take up a lot of time to complete a battle, I think I would lose interest after 1 hour....

I borrowed this to try it out. Was expecting something like Star Wars: Empire at War.

The damn game didn't even have a campaign/story mode.

But I hear its a huge game in terms of scale, as in gigantormousely huge. Each game can last upto 6-10 hours.

They need another Homeworld, that was a great game. I have Sins as well and it really is a good game (not as fun as Homeworld 2 though, but close). I would recommend Sins, even though it is a little slow at times.
