Core i7 965 Temps on stock cooler? - Page 2

post #11 of 19
It's supposed to get around 65c full load with the stock cooler if you don't overclock.

Guess I'm lucky then. I ran it for some time.

Gooddog - what were your temps with the True at stock frequencies/voltage?

Once I got the True, I went straight to OC, so I am not sure. I was around 30/50 I think.

Thread Starter
Thanks for the numbers guys. It's fairly cold over here at the moment so ambients should be nice and low, so now I know what I'm aiming for. Cheers!

Well I have a 920, so I hope I count haha, but these suckers do run hot, and I have a T.R.U.E. as well.
I'm idling at 39 - 40 and load is around 65.

When it's overclocked to 3.9, idle is around 50 ish and load is 70.
Sometimes.

Yeah i got a 920 too, hey ProjecT TimeZ, have you tried for 4ghz on ur 920? i got a true with a 120cfm fan too, i can get 3.9ghz stable but then i go for 4 and for some reason it just doesnt seem to want to go. I was wondering what are all your voltages at, it seems the more voltage i put into it the more stable it becomes but it still crashes after about an hour of stress testing.

Also tell your friend to get a TRUE, theyre great!

Try the following to get to 4.0

VQPI = 1.35
CPU clock skew: 800
other clock skew: 900

hmm...as far as my temps go they are as low as 20C running on speedstep in an antec 1200. Honestly, there is no real need to turn it off, its keeping up with everything I want to do. The next logical step will be to go ssds and quad sli followed by water cooling. This is just the beginning

i also have my ram running on the xmp profile with no problems at all. The 1600mhz gives a slight overclock to 3350Mhz
