Doesn't HD5000 launch next month? I know it's Q1 2009 in the least. Don't expect nVidia to keep this victory long.

Also, sweet god look at that cooler.

More like Q4 2009. Around October from what I've heard. The 4870 X2 still manages to be highly competitive with this 'taperecorder'.

Hopefully it won't be a 9800 GX2 of '09.

I'd say the biggest deal shown here is how the GTX295 is almost always ahead of the GTX280 in SLI. 280 SLI is much more expensive, so if someone is wanting an nVidia setup this will save them quite a bit of money to have the top-of-the-line graphics setup.

I wonder how good/terrible GTX295 would do in SLI (4 cores)?

seems that way already

honestly if your nvidia you WANT the crown back and you NEED everyone to know it , if it was all its been hyped up to be then they wouldnt have set forth such restrictions on what they can and cannot test even if its only an early sample, they just dont seem to confident in it yet obviously

my only conclusion thus far is its still not all its cracked up to be , ill wait til its finalized before forming a FINAL opinion on it really but right now in its current state it is NOT that impressive imo its just barely ahead of a 4870X2

honestly id LOVE to see this card pwn (so please no stupid fanboy comments about my alegiences) , then ATI would be forced to lower their prices more and then nvidia would too to keep competitive and we ALL win from the price drops
