Pyle subs any good? - Page 2

are you trying to reuse the enclosure from the logitec? pyle was way better back in the mid to late 80's to early 90's. just like fosgate and lanzar, autotek etc.. i would stay clear of there new stuff. i used to install car audio for a living when i was in my late teens to mid 20's. what are you looking to spend?

Yea I guess depending on the sub I get I may want to use the logi's enclosure. Is it bad?
I don't really wanna go too much over 200-250 on an amp considering our customs fees are horrendous. Probably the same for a sub (if I can't find one locally).

i wouldnt bother with the old box. i would just build a nice slot ported box. you only really need a single 10" sub for a home computer. i think otherwise its kind of overkill. see if you can find a older JLaudio sub id say like a w0 or w4 or w1 see if you can find a DVC sub that can be wired to produce a 8ohm impedence. if you plan to use the rest of the logitec speakers and get a new sub like i said i would go for a single 10 otherwise i think the bass will drown out the rest of the system. maybe a single 12 will also work. if you need more help pm me and ill show you lots of cool tricks and things to improve sound etc...

They got any sub you would need.

Rockford Fosgate
RE
Kicker
Memphis
JL

For a house sub I would try out Boston Acoustic or MB Quartz.

I use three 8" subs (2 bose/ 1 yamaha home theater) and a 7.1 bose system now.. was lucky enough to have the whole thing land on my lap for next to nothing.. and a new hdmi yamaha receiver to run it all..
But.. a 12" in a nice slot ported box like he said designed right and tuned would be a monster for a home theater/computer... guarantee you'd keep the thing on like 1/3 volume and a JL would do nicely

Well I'm running a single Pioneer Premier 2000SPL off an MTX 250.2 amplifier. It's bridged @ 2ohms, and putting out roughly 500w RMS or so. With that said, I have to keep my gains all the way DOWN in order for my bass to not drown out everything else. And this is in a custom slot-ported box tuned at 30Hz. See my sig for details.
