Newbie needs help with q6600

Hi all, I'm kinda new to OC and I've recently put together a system with a striker II Extreme motherboard and a Q6600 cpu and 4GB of dd3 memory. I've played around a little in the bios and set the memory latency settings to what Corsair states for the ram 9-9-9-24 and voltage of 1.6

My next step is to OC the processor. I'm stable right now at 3.0 with just about everything but the cpu voltage on auto. My goal is a solid 3.4ghz.

The vid for this chip is 1.325VID and its a G0. If someone could perhaps post some "ballpark" numbers for getting started with 3.4 on this cpu and motherboard I would be very appreciative.

I'm looking for suggestions on:

multiplier and fsb settings
linked unlinked or auto
cpu voltage
NB and SB voltage
and anything else you guys think would be relevant to hit a stable 3.4ghz.

Note: Cooling is not a problem. I'm on a Zalman 9500 and idle at like 22 right now at 3.0ghz.

You might get 3.2 on that Zalman but it's going to choke when you start getting into the higher frequencies and the Q6600 really starts throwing off heat.

BTW, welcome to OCN! Be sure to fill in your system specs.

I got 3.3 but that was it. I could run 3.6 with an E6850 - just to show the difference in heat output b/w dual- and quad-core. Of course, the E6850 was 3.0 stock, so actually, the difference probably isn't that much..
A Q6600 @ 3.3 rocks, btw..

3.3 was as far as my Zalman CNPS9700 LED would take my lapped Q6600, and load temps approached 70C. Under a TRUE it runs at 3.6 with load temps around 55-60C.

3.3 would be great, what settings did you guys use for stability on those? I actually played around a little with it earlier and got very stable results at 3.2ghz with idle temps at 28 and load under prime 95 of 54. i think I had the voltage at 1.38 for the core but everything else was on auto. That's where i start to get worried. I don't want to try 3.3 without knowing a good place to start the NB and SB because I don't trust "Auto" very much at all.

EDIT: Ok I think I know what the FSB and Multi should be for 3.3 at least. 1468 or so for the FSB and multi of 9.

If I can't do 3.4 or 3.3 even it's no biggie but I did want to give it a try. At least i now know I can do 3.2 and be stable and fairly cool.
