Something really wierd is happening...

Thread Starter
Hi guys, so a couple of minutes a go i thought that i would go on a bbit of crysis, havent been on it for a while so i though why not?. Anyway The sound on it is really crackly and 1/3rd of the screen i chopped off, i have auto adjusted my monitor and meade sure that all the resolutions are correct, whuich they are. By the way, the sound was fine whilst listening to normal music and such but now its crackling in msuic, just not as load as in games though.

Why is this happening?
(It does it in all games now )

(Also, i dont know here else to put this thread so sorry if its in the wrong place.

sounds like your graph card overheated, try doing some different mem tests and stuff, i'd also say reinstall your drivers for your vid card, and make sure it's not getting to hot and isn't artifacting or anything.

can you post a screenshot of what it looks like?
and you said it also has sound crackling problems??
take out your components and check for leaking capacitors on your mobo, and make sure your components are all functional

My graphics card aint overheating, as its only running at 50C load, and i toke a screenshot but on the screenshot it looks perfectly normal, but i just cant see 1 3rd of the screen for some reason, my board is perfectly fine, all componants run ok, and their isnt any overheating at all. This is really wierd, i have tried to restart my comp but it still does it.

have you tried to reinstall windows and/or the games that give you problems?
also it could be the screen, try plugging in a different monitor and setting it on low graphics

Very strange that your image shows up without errors with the screenshot. Could it be that your display cable is loose or not performing how it should?

I would take out the graphics card, and put in another to see if it is the motherboard or the vc. Also, boot the computer with the vista CD, and try to repair the install. Another option is to hold F8 or CTRL when booting and choose last known good config. You can also try to boot in safe mode and see if the problem is there when in sm.

Your last resort should be re-installing, because it really sounds like a hardware problem or possibly confilicting irq on the drivers. Something else to try is to go into the bios and turn off auto config of IRQ, and manually assign them. Another option to test if it is an IRQ conflict (I think it may be due to the crackily sound combined with video problem) is to remove the battery, and move the jumper setting over one and then back to clear the CMOS. That may clear up the IRQ conflict. Lastly, if you have 2 sticks of ram or more, take out 1 or 2 and see if the memory is causing an issue. Doubtful, but possible. -oh- is the sound coming thru the monitor? or completely seperate?

If I think of anything else to try, I'll post again.

Good Luck!
