1. Make sure you are downloading the correct drivers for your card and operation system and the correct bitrate (either 32bit or 64bit).

2. Uninstall your previous NVIDIA drivers, reboot (make sure Windows does not try to install its own drivers), and install new drivers. If that does not work...

3. Reseat your video card, uninstall the previous NVIDIA drivers, reboot, and install new drivers. If that does not work...

4. Attempt to clean remnants of old video drivers by using a driver cleaner utility in Safe Mode.

5. Make sure that the power cables to your video card are hocked-up properly.

6. Make sure that the video cable from your video card to the monitor is well fastened on both ends.

Do a bunch of christmas upgrades, as playing games on that system would be very annoying. Upgrading to a sub $100 dollar videocard, and athlon X2, 4GB of RAM, and a decent sound card (as well as a case) would only run around $400, and would offer a huge performance boost over what you have now. The card is old....if you manage to fix it, cool; it won't last much longer, though.

Try a reformat and as above said, could be a driver problem
