You can ultimately lower the CPU to a E5200 if you want better everything else. Many have easily gotten to 4GHz with the E5200.
Isnt that card overkill? Is the E5200 overclocked just as powerful?

That card's not overkill. It'll last you much longer. Besides, when you have money later, you can always have room to drop another 4830, 4850, or 4870 in there for CF. And honestly, E5200 won't be as powerful if you look at numbers in benchmarks, but the difference will be completely unnoticeable in games, especially at 1680x1050. If you do plan to CF in the future, you might want to consider this X38 board for only $10 more.

If you are happy with that price, then If I were you I would drop the sound card, get antec 1200 or cm 690 instead of antec 900, the cable management is virtually non existent in the 900 without modding the case.

Dont need the mouse pad really and I would get mx-2 instead of AS5

I would also get a corsair 750w or pc power and cooling 750w PSU instead.

He should probably get the 4850x2 instead so he can stick with the UD3P.

Looks real nice! Yea I would scratch the headphones, microphone, & mousepad as you can do better on ebay.

I use a 24" x 18" desktop calendar as a mouse pad. You'll never run out of real estate this way.

I also agree that the corsair power supply may be better but the silverstone is 80plus cert so that's one of the main things to look for.

And unless u have a sick surround sound system I would consider dropping that sound card.

I'm sorry, by 'that card' i meant the 4870X2. Unless thats what you were talking about?

I'm switching to the E5200. What should i improve? My parent has already approved the $1500 checkout.. so i can match that.. Just more money i have to pay back later.

Why? Thing is, 4850X2 will bump the cost anyway, so it's better for him to switch the E8400 for a E5200, which doesn't even need 333FSB for 4GHz. Thus the X38 board will be perfect if he wants to add another card in the future. I know the UD3P can score higher FSB but that won't be needed for anything at or over 9x multiplier (that includes E8400).

No not that 4870X2, that's a tad bit too expensive. I meant this 4850X2: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102809

It's a GTX 280 beater.
