Suggestions for Upgrading

I posted this topic in the AMD build logs section but realized that since I was open to either format I should post it where the Intel supporters would see it as well. Anyway, copy and paste of previous post. Thanks for all responses.

As the title states I would like to get your suggestions on upgrading my current rig. First let me state that my current rig has been perfect for my needs and doesn't need anything new, it's just my parents asked me to build them a computer "like mine". I figured I could donate the cpu, MB, and memory from my system, maybe even the gpu. My system is a little over 2 years old, was the last of the 939 breed, but it has been a great rig. Never been OC'ed either. Anyways, I'd like to keep this build under $400 u.s. I plan to keep the remainder of my rig as it works flawlessly. I do not care which brand you suggest as I'd be having to replace the board anyways. I do nothing more than game and surf the web with my rig. No photo or video editing, or anything like that. Don't really care for quad cores at this point as I will not probably need it for the next 4-5 years at which point I will do this all over again. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Well it really depends. Considering you don't care much for quads and are under a $400 budget, I would suggest an Intel C2D.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820146731 RAM
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814121272 GPU

Total: $430.96
Rebates: $65
Final: $365.96 +Shipping (on the ram only, everything else is free shipping)
Then there should be a bit of handling fees but nothing that will push it over $400.

Cheers
