Poll will be up momentarily.

Please note that both Chips do 4.0, and that is the frequency that I plan on running the rig in conjunction with:
  • 780i 132-YW-E178-A1 (SLI FTW series.... lol)
  • SLI GTX 280's
  • Corsair Dominator DDR2 8500 (2 x 2GB)
  • XP 64-bit

Please vote and leave a comment on why you would go with the CPU of your choice.

Thank you for your time.

The QX6850 is an over-priced Q6600. It will probably put out more heat, and has 50% less L2 cache compared to the Q9550. I see that you already have the QX6850; if you are looking for a new processor, upgrading to a Q9550 would not be worth it, IMO.

Hey bruddah, go with the Q9550 for your current rig for sure.

Also, the GTX 280's that are shrunken down from 65nm to 55nm come out on January 8th or something like that. Go with those instead of the current versions.

Q9550 4Ghz, better stepping and less expensive, cooler.

Just to clear it up, he already has a Q9550 as well as a QX6850.
sorry, this is not a poll, Q9550
faster, cooler, (cheaper), and bigger cache, newer tech, 45nm. lalalallalaa

The reason to keep the Qx is unless u have really nice voltages or u are somehow able to abuse the multipler hard. Otherwise I don't see a reason to keep it unless it's for epeen.

Q9550 for staying up to date with current stuff along with cooler components.
QX6850 for a swollen e-peen.
