my 790i FTW is a rock solid board for my q6600. I got to 3.6easily and am only limited by temps.

If you are looking for cheap 780i. If you want to upgrade to DDR3 (1600-18000mhz is best for q6600), then get the 790i. It's an amazing board

Best for overclocking Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P
Best for overclocking & SLI would be the 790i FTW

But honestly if I was you I would just sell my board/cpu and buy a 58x + i7

Nice choice, I would have gone with the 780i ftw if i had the money. although i would have just waited to go i7, no real point in buying a mobo then selling it for way less in a few months.
