Please help - House burned and need to build a new one

Ok, So I just lost everything. The last time I built a rig, it was an intel e4300 with an asus p5b MB (I think), and a gt850 card or something like that. I can figure out the card and memory I imagine, but what's the "same thing" nowdays? I haven't kept up with which chips have come out or new MOBO's, and I need a budget build that overclocks great. What's the "standard" now for guys like me? Thank you in advance. I really don't have time to search much from this hotel computer. But we got a camper and are going to live in it for about a year till the new house gets built and I need to build a new rig.

I am sorry to hear about your situation. I hope everyone is well.

TailChaser, what is your maximum budget that you would not like to go over?

I see I think I'm going to want the e5300 intel chip. What's MOBO's or Chipsets work with this? Video card needs to be moderate because I may do some 3-d real world rendering engineer work at home, but haven't found time to game any so nothing really high end.

So, lplease suggest MOBO for this chip unless there's a better chip, and I can figure out what fits into the MOBO from there. Thanks!

AS cheap as possible Last time I bought some scrap MOBO's and fixed the CPU pins and had a free MOBO, but really the gigabyte or cheaper mobo would be the best. I don't need a very high end model. $600 or less would be ideal. 2 GB of ram, a mobo that's easy to overclock without changing the voltage, a good quiet case that circulate some air, I'm not going to push things to the extreme. Probably leave it at 3 GHz. Thx.

Would this from ebay work out alright?
INTEL PENTIUM DUAL CORE E5200 CPU + Asus P5GC-MX/1333 COMBO

I really just need some updates on MOBO technology and the best thing to get. No clue here.

Wow, that really sucks. Sorry about the house -- and the rig. I hope the insurance is paying for your new one!

Something comparable that should fly with the insurance claim would be: I'm basing this on my best estimate of the last retail price of your sig rig components at the time they were discontinued.

Intel Core 2 Duo E7300 Wolfdale 2.66GHz LGA 775 Dual-Core Processor Model BX80571E7300 - Retail (lowest Core 2 Duo available)
GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail (cheaper than the ASUS P45 boards but an incredible overclocker)
CORSAIR DOMINATOR 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TWIN2X4096-8500C5D - Retail
ASUS EAH4670/DI/512M/A Radeon HD 4670 512MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Retail
Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 ST3320613AS 320GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM

That should get you started.

WOw, sorry man. Mine's nothing but a pile of ashes, I hope you were at least able to save some picture or some of your precious things. And a hint to everyone out there, those fireproof boxes are NOT fireproof. Get a safety deposit box for your important papers and back-up hard drive. Best of luck to you.

Off for the night at this hotel comp. Thanks for all the help so far and i"ll check back in tomorrow. Goodnight.
