Again, your opinion is not fact. Your attitude is a bit old.

To the OP: I'm sorry that you have had issues with GTA4. I'm one of the people that has already put close to 75 hours into it and only had one bug. Game runs great for me.

The OP will ideally need a better CPU, either a quad-core or a highly-overclocked dual-core to the get the most out of the game.

75hrs DAMN ... i got around 30hrs and im playing every day
its awesome that the game runs perfectly smooth for you .. but the again you have a quad core at 4ghz and a 19" rez ... that makes a big difference

Nah, that's the lack of AA you're noticing. You can force 2x in the new nVidia drivers (180.84) iirc, but it's not very good.

i want to buy GTAIV but look at my sig rig, i mean i can run anything and everything pretty much on high, Prince of persia, fallout 3, assassins creed, dead space, rainbow 6, guitar hero 3 and nba2k9 and left 4 dead and throw in AA and AF and i can still game on max settings.

killers are crysis, crysis warhead and im betting GTAIV

what stops me from getting it is.
1. AA, looking at screenshots cuts my eyes, really.
2. Hefty CPU requirement, people who really enjoy the game have a least a heavy OC dual core OR quads.
3. hefty video card requirements, sheesh not everyone can afford 4870s and quads.

GTASA is cool because its highly playable on anything. thats all lol

Yeah, I actually think that GTA:SA looks quite nice with high resolution and plenty of AA. Apart from the character models of course, because they were modelled on blobs of jelly and the hands are modelled on sawn-off bits of wood.

There aren't hefty GPU requirements. I saw some benches with a 9600 getting only about 6-7fps less than a GTX 280. edit: I digress, it uses a lot of VRAM.

A Q6600 is fine for running this game, and they're what, £100? Not too 'hefty' imo, but I agree with you that the amount of CPU it requires IS over the top for what it delivers.

The engine is probably badly optimized for the PC. It's annoying when your PC can play all other games, except one, and the reason is most likely **** coding

All I need to get working about the game is the GFWL update. But it's giving me the xlivexredist error (or whatever it was). So I just can't go online. But I'd like to finish the single player first anyways

Loving the game. SA was great, IV is greater
