You need a Drill and a small bit.

Take the case interior completely apart. Meaning Rivet. Drill the center of the rivet until the bit goes straight though.

Prep the metal. Roughing it up with a sponge type Sanding block.

Clean all parts.

Dry completely and use a blow dryer to find those little water spots.

Paint with 3 coats of etching primer. Advance Auto parts.

Use Krylon or I like Duplicoat Satin Automotive paint at Advance Auto. Buy 2 cans of primer and 3 cans of Paint. you MIGHT be able to take back the 3 can.

wait till next day.

Paint 5 coats of satin black at 20 min intervals.

Let dry for 48 hours...........Ohhhhh the wait.

Re Rivet the case back to how it was in the beginning.

Thats all.

You may want to explain the "Re-riveting" process. I, myself, Found that to be the biggest issue when trying to paint the interior of my case. Hence - Why my case is still unpainted

What tools would be required?

Brands:
Rust-o-Leum Painter's Touch or Rust-o-Luem Universal - found at home depot
Krylon - found at lowe's
duplicolor - found at auto stores like kragen

Here is what I would get
2 cans of Dupli-Color Self-Etching Primer (I got it at Kragen Auto Parts)
2-3 cans of which ever paint you choose (I got Rust-o-Leum Universal)
2 cans of clear coat IF you want to use it, it will provide protection but w/ Rustoleum unviersal it is not necessary as they are already glossy unless you get satin black or something
400,800,1000,1500,2000 grit sandpaper
rivet gun w/ 1/8" rivets (get like a box of 100 so you have plenty of spares)
scotch painters tape, so you can tape off the areas you dont want to paint/so you can use it for protection when you put the rivets back in so you dont scratch the paint

Procedure:
1. sand down case with 400 grit to provide better adhesion
2. use compressed air or something to spray down the case and get rid of any dust/dirt/metal
3. wipe down case with isopropyl alcohol and let it air dry for about 15-20 minutes
4. lay down 2 coats of primer waiting 3 minutes in between then let the 2nd coat dry for 24 hours
5. wetsand with 800 grit lightly to smooth out the surface and let dry and wipe down with isopropyl alcohol
6. lay down 2 more coats of primer waiting 3 minutes between them and let dry for 24 hours
7. wetsand with 800 grit lightly to smooth out the surface and let dry and wipe down with isopropyl alcohol
8. lay down first coat of paint and let dry for 24 hours then wetsand with 800 grit lightly
9. lay down 2nd coat of paint and let dry for 24 hours and then wetsand with 800 grit lightly
10. do the same as step 9 for the 3rd coat
11. do the same as step 9 for the 4th coat
12. if you do clearcoat, lay down first coat and let dry for 24 hours then wetsand with 1000grit lightly
13. 2nd coat of clearcoat and let dry for 24 hours then wetsand with 1500grit lightly
14. 3rd coat of clearcoat and let dry for 24 hours and wetsand lightly with 2000grit
15. let everything dry for about 3-7 days before you put the case back together. the longer you wait the more cured and durable the paint will be, and be careful so you dont scratch up the paint because it will throw away your hard work

you do not need to (wet)sand between each coat. you can sand after the last coat of primer and the last coat of paint. however i do recommend sanding after each clearcoat and moving up 1 by 1 (1000,1500,2000) that will get you a very smooth finish.

post up pics so we can see your progress.
I hope this helps.

you wont need to derivet your case to paint the inside of the case. If you want too, it will yield better results since it will lay the paint down smoothly on the places you wouldn't be able to see/reach. But you can get a good enough paint job on the parts you can see without any issues without derivetting.

I have done it both ways. If you want to buy a rivet gun by all means go ahead. But if you dont want to spend extra money just mask off holes and the top part of the case and spray the inside.

It doesn't have to be a top notch paint job, just so it looks good. But your saying its ok to skip the riveting part?

Thanks for the detailed instructions.

yeah no problem. i just ask that you post pictures because i wanna see how your antec 900 turns out(i am guessin that is the case you are doing based on ur sig rig)

as for the riveting:
rivet guns cost liek $10-$30. I got mine for $10 at ace hardware and rivets are like $6 for 100 of them. I would recommend it as it will be a lot better paint job, but drilling the rivets out is a beeotch i wont lie. And when you put the case together you gotta be careful to not scratch it up so you might want to let the paint dry for a week or so before you put it back together.
overall recommendation - Derivet the case

also what colors are you doing?

I'm probably not going to rivet, because I'm just going to be doing the area around my mobo and what you see from the side panel. I was going to paint it black... So it as somewhat a dark look and would reflect LEDs more. Theres gonna be alot of LEDs xD
