650W PSU Enough for Crossfire ?

Hi all,

I have one piece of 512mb HD4870. Thinking to add one more and go crossfire. Do you think my 650W Thermaltake Toughpower Qfan Psu is enough ? You can see my other components in my sig.

Yeah, I'd say it's enough.

It should be enough for it.
It will be enough, however, you will most likely need an adapter for the 4th 6-pin PCI-E connection. As a side note, the PSU in my rig is on ATI's site as an official product that works with the HD 4870X2.

Yes it seems like I have only one more 6 pin PCI-E connector in my case with my modular psu. It is a red one as far as I can see and hangin out there doing nothing for now

Where can I find that +1 adapter ?

4870 is 150w so it should be able to handle CF. Regarding the cable, you may need something like this.
Should handle it, but I like having more power than I need. That way its there when I need it, not the other way around.

I have two pcie 6 pin connectors, one 8 pin hard wired pcie connector and one pcie 8 pin to pcie 6 pin adapter that already came with the psu. Still I'll need one more to go crossfire ? Then I guess this psu is not crossfire certified

650 watts would be cutting it close, unless the psu is 100 percent efficient. Also you have a quad core.

It's efficiency seems to be up to %85 in overclockersclub review.
