Good timing that I found this. Just got a new headset from Sony and I wondered why it has a cardboard backing on the package instead of that plastic one.

in Japan, dont they use cardboard boxes for just about everything in Videogames?.. Allot of imported items have such better packaging, even peripherals. I can think back to Sega Saturn and PSX days. Packaging in japan is so much cooler, and easier to organize. Maybe sony just uses all the same crap over there too?. i've definitely cut myself on that plastic.. like bleeding status

i would assume this is mostly outside of japan?.. not like they dont have these kinds, but allot less more of it. god do i hate that plastic

I know those headphones in that video well. they almost always cut me when I'm opening a case of them to put on the shelf.

QFT... it keeps the product very well packed and it ensures that no one has tampered or opened the package and removed any of its contents. I think they should just have an environmentally friendly version of it. Scissors FTW.

Why dont they just use the packaging with the plastic poppers on it.
You know what I mean, where two pieces of plastic are pushed together and on has a indent and the other and outdent and they just pop together.

Then they could just put some sort of security seal on it like a ripable bit (perforated edge) like you get in your employee payslip.

That way, its secure and easy to open

The amount of times ive cut myself on clamshells is a joke. I even have a little bit of plastic from one stuck in my thumb. (it cut my thumb but I didn't go to the hospital because I thought it was just a cut. Its healed over now but you can see where it is as its permantly bruised and you can feel it lol)
