Max stable overclock for Q660 Bundle?

Thread Starter
Im trying to get the max out of my q660, and starting to overclock more than the guide for 3.3ghz, ive managed to get upto 3.6hz, but as soon as I run prime 95 in vista it crashes (obviously wrong settings)
Ive got the ip35 pro xe board
At the moment ive got it upto 3.4 running stable 55c max temp
Heres the list of my settings in bios atm:

CPU:

External Clock: 378mhz
Multiplier: 9
DRAM Speed: 1:1.25 (DDR2 - 945)
PCI Express: 105mhz

VOLTAGES:

CPU Core: 1.4750
DDR2: 2.300
CPU VTT: 1.27
MCH 1.25V: 1.37
ICH 1.05V: 1.15
ICH10 1.5V: 1.55
DDR2 Referance: 0%
CPU GTLREF 0&2: 67%
CPU GTLREF 1&3: 67%

RAM:

CAS Latency: 5
RAS# to CAS# Delay: 5
RAS# Precharge: 5
Precharge Delay: 15
Rest of settings in this page set to auto
PCI compliancy mode: v1.0a
PEG FORCE x1: DISABLED
Init Display 1st: PCIEx

I have a VID of 1.3250

Anything else I might need to change as well?

I know I can get more out of this as well, its just getting the right combination of settings!

EDIT NOT completely stable with these settings above as I just had a BSOD error after running prime 95 for around 30 mins
But using the settings I had for a guaranteed oc of 3.3ghz, prime has been running for over 30 mins and no errors

your cpu could use more VTT, and I don't know which memory modules you have, but 2.3V is a lot

I would put up you Vcore to 1.45V, that's what is stable for me

This is my voltages etc. on my Rampage Formula:

Ai Overclock Tuner : Manual
OC From CPU Level Up : AUTO
CPU Ratio Control : Manual
- Ratio CMOS Setting : 9
FSB Frequency : 400
FSB Strap to North Bridge : 400
PCI-E Frequency: 110
DRAM Frequency: DDR2-800mhz
DRAM Command Rate : 2T
DRAM Timing Control: Manual
CAS# Latency : 5
RAS# to CAS# Delay : 5
RAS# Precharge : 5
RAS# ActivateTime : 15

CPU Voltage : 1.45
CPU PLL Voltage : 1.60
North Bridge Voltage : 1.35
DRAM Voltage : 1.90
FSB Termination Voltage : 1.40
South Bridge Voltage : 1.075
Loadline Calibration : Enabled
CPU GTL Reference : Auto
North Bridge GTL Reference : Auto
DDR2 Channel A REF Voltage auto
DDR2 Channel B REF Voltage : auto
DDR2 Controller REF Voltage : DDR2-Ref
SB 1.5V Voltage : 1.5

Hope some of that helps

Yea, I have a Q6600 with the same VID as you and I can only achieve 3.4GHz with about 1.5v idle and I need about 1.55v for 3.5GHz. So, you might need to give it some more voltage to finally get it stable. Good luck!

UPDATE:
I have tried a numerous amount of different voltages etc, managed to boot into windows at 3.51 but crashed after 10 mins or so running prime
I am awaiting a new psu to come through the post, because I have such an old 1, so may have a go again when that comes
Will stick to a nice and stable 3.3 for now

I am going to get some faster ram next month (probably 2x 2gb 1066mhz) and see if that helps
Can I run these + my current 2 333mhz sticks both dual channel?

You should just get rid of your current RAM; it's only going to hold you back. If you mix them, then all of your RAM will have to run at the slowest speed.
