[Blizzard] Starcraft 2 Battle Report: Terran vs Protoss - Page 5

My friends and I still play SC1 on our lunch breaks over the LAN in the office

Wow terran turned around and won.
Big surprise.

The protoss started losing his micro skills as soon as he had to manage more than 2 hotkeys of units.

Both weren't that great though.

My point is, they were supposed to release it...now, then they cut content, and pushed it back another year. Whereas Dawn of War 2 has been in the works for less time, has 4 races to balance, and is coming out sooner. And yes it has a "WHOLE NEW ENGINE!".

It's cool that you guys defend Blizzard like this "oh they make great games etc". But they also do this bait and switch crap to keep you interested for far longer than you should be.

"COMING MARCH STARCRAFT 2!" "Nevermind DECEMBER!" "Nevermind NEXT YEAR!!...late" "Now we're going to SPLIT THE GAME UP AND MAKE YOU PAY $100 FOR EXTRA CAMPAIGNS!"

Remember Wrath of the Lich king? They were going to keep it in beta forever until Warhammer gave them something to fear, and then they sped up production and got the expansion out in a timely manner. They're just Lazy imo, cause they think they have nothing to fear in the RTS world.
There's no bait and switch. There has never been a release date, and there still isn't one. And they didn't "cut content." They had a choice: three small campaigns in one game or three big campaigns in three games. Each game is planned to have 30ish scenarios. Whereas Red Alert 3 had like 27.

Blizzard has pushed videogame story telling to a whole new level IMO, and I happily give them my hard earned money whenever they come out with a new game. Starcraft's story was something beautiful, and Blizzard has never let me down. You don't agree then don't buy the game. Simple. The game will come out when it is ready. It will be accessible but also deep. It will run on a wide range of computer systems, and people will come out in droves to play it... be it tomorrow or in 2010.

Except not December 22, 2012 because everyone will be dead.

I've also heard that Blizzard is actually a fairly small company (number of employees that is) which would make such a massive game release take even longer.
