No Audio for some reason.

Thread Starter
Ok, I have had no audio for three days, so I am coming on here to find some help before I go Jihad style on Microsoft.

Spent at least 15 hours in the last three days. Here are the changes that I have made over the last couple of days.
  • I have installed new RAM and in doing so moved my GFX card over a bit
(may have damaged something over it because I just moved it to get access to RAM clips.)
Secondly Microsoft somehow thinks that I have a stolen version of windows, or not geniune. I'm not sure if it is but I am saving up for a new version because some dude put new windows on my PC...without telling me of course I would never want to steal windows.

I also have downloaded audio drivers from my Mobo Manufacturers website and from Realteks website. And installed, and restarted multiple times.

No audio drivers appear in the Device Manager.

Any help would be really appreciated.

Hi,

What is the name of your sound chip? Also have you tried an earlier version of the driver?
I had the same issue today. No matter what I tried, it would not work. Then I unistalled the drivers, and reinstalled the latest Realtek ones, works just fine now.

yeah, just reinstall audio drivers, make sure to clean out old ones using CCleaner or similar... and grab the latest ones.

When I hover above the speaker (which has a cross next to it) it says 'No Audio Output Device is installed.'

Hi drakan66, please do not multi post. Next time use the edit button, thank you. =]

Go into your bios and make sure your onboard audio is actually enabled.

If it is, then go here to download your driver

Select which ever is compatible with your version of windows.
