well i haven't had a problem after doing it like 20 times.

i don't huff it, just said that's all it's good for. implying it's worthless

Staples, Office Depot..anywhere like that. They look like spray paint haha...just an aerosol can.

using a vacuum cleaner with the canned air helped immensely.

I dont necessarily agree that dust could cause a short while sitting on the back of the video card or sitting on a motherboard. I've seen computers far dustier than that that dont have any problems. What dust can do, is if it gets in say a PCI socket or in a memory slot, it can cause a bad connection between a PCI device and the socket, causing the device not to function.

What I will say is that dust adds to temperature of your PC, which can be potentially dangerous in cases of overheating, which will damage the components.

But for cleaning, compress air is fine. Never really used a vacuum (just be sure to be in a open air environment (such as outside) if you dont use a vacuum). An air compressor also works fine (use the one at work all the time, never had any issues).

Edit (In response to above): Definitely do not take a vacuum directly to the computer. That is probably the worst thing you could do. You can damage the computer with the vacuum.

Your PSU will be soo full of dust that you should take it out to blow it out...IMO. that guy just shot all his PSU dust into his rig after he blew out the rig? What a dumbass. Other then that yeah he did a pretty good job explaining how to dust your rig.

Thanks for the detailed explanation shiarua! +rep

I just opened up the side panel to check how dusty it actually is (was only looking through the case window earlier) and it didn't look that bad. Still pretty dusty on the top of the PSU, the GPU was relatively clean, the CPU fan was pretty dusty and on top of the hard drive as well. Some random PSU cables are dusty to. Wish I could take a pic but I only have my phone camera and it's dire.

I used the power of mah lungs to de-dust some bits (result was a lot of coughing and now my rooms really dusty)

Once Christmas passes I'm gonna purchase some dust filters, compressed air and tomorrow I'm gonna clean & dust my room

that 900 will get dusty often if you dont put filters on it. But it looks like your going to, so thats good. At my (old) job, we use to use a air compressor, but then it started getting too humid, so it starting spraying water. As long its not humid where you are, air compressor will be fine, if it is humid, use compressed air, and then you can always freeze some stuff after your done , but you didnt get that from me.

Just make sure that ALL fans get a good dusting. The video did not mention the fan on the graphics card, which is a lot more important than the top of the card Also, pay close attention to the intake and outtake fans.
