I honestly prefer Steam, and prefer buying games off it than a CD version of a game (unless the disk is installed like Half-Life 2, where you enter your serial in steam and have it on your account forever.), because of being able to have it installed on multiple machines with out some game bricking on you due to DRM (or something, like what Bioshock has built in.)
Thus, which is why I waited and bought Bioshock on Steam, which I will do the same for when I buy Crysis (when ever I feel like I want to play it...), Spore, and etc.
Heck, you know how Beyond Good and Evil had troubles on 64-bit systems and Vista? Since it came out on Steam, all those issues were totally gone
So it helps out too.
